Truth from the Burbs

In our last two houses, we did most of the work ourselves; everything from paint to flooring, tile and electrical. You know how it is when you do things yourself, they tend to drag on a bit. With our newest house, we tried to farm out the big stuff - thinking it would save time AND the work would be of better quality.

Our journey started immediately after purchase, before we even moved the first piece of furniture in. The house was dated and needed some work, which we factored into the purchase... We were looking to freshen up the look. Little did we know we'd get a crash course in contractor reality.
