In our last two houses, we did most of the work ourselves; everything from paint to flooring, tile and electrical. You know how it is when you do things yourself, they tend to drag on a bit. With our newest house, we tried to farm out the big stuff - thinking it would save time AND the work would be of better quality.
Our journey started immediately after purchase, before we even moved the first piece of furniture in. The house was dated and needed some work, which we factored into the purchase... We were looking to freshen up the look. Little did we know we'd get a crash course in contractor reality.

👍 Our house was built during the housing bubble in the late 2000's and one of the things the original builder didn't finish was an upstairs area. The previous owners elected not to finish it out, even though stairs, floor and wall supports were already in.
